Dr. Barbara Paca’s preservation work recognized by National Association of Secretaries of State

Dr. Barbara Paca, Research Professor, was honored with an award Tuesday from the National Association of Secretaries of State for her global and Maryland achievements in preserving the history and culture of communities of color.

Paca was presented with the award on Tuesday, during a special ceremony held in the William Paca Garden in Annapolis, Maryland. William Paca, a signer of the Declaration of Independence, is Dr. Paca's great-great-great-great-grandfather. Dr. Paca aided in the restoration of the William Paca Garden in the 1970s and 1980s.
