The Department of Anthropology is co-sponsoring an event from the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority entitled "Calling in Black."

Every morning we, as people of color, rise against the weight of institutional racism and discrimination. We are resilient day in and day out despite the recurring events that have made us feel isolated. The weight gets to be tiresome, we need an outlet. We need a break.

We invite you to join us in experiencing our all afternoon event entitled “Calling in Black” On Thursday October 13th, 2016 from 12-3PM on Hornbake Plaza. We designed “Calling in Black” in hopes of creating a safe and judgment-free zone for students of color to exist, explore, meditate, create, enjoy spoken word, play games and more! Come exist with us, all are welcome!
