Climate Resilient Pathways and Social Science Research to Actions

On February 7th from 1:00 - 5:00 PM the National Academies is holding a public seminar, Climate Resilient Pathways and Social Science Research to Actions. Please join Research Professor Dr. Robert Winthrop and the other panelists for an interesting discussion on strengthening the use of the social sciences in climate change research and action. This program builds on the 2017 academic / federal workshop Social Science Perspectives on Climate Change, in which several Maryland faculty participated.

The seminar will include these sessions:
  • Overview of the 4th National Climate Assessment and the 1.5C Special Report;
  • Key findings of the 2017 Social Science Perspectives workshop, on social vulnerability, climate change drivers, and methods;
  • Advancing Interdisciplinary and Transdisciplinary Research for Global Change; and
  • From Research to Actions.
Those interested must register in advance to join in person (very limited space remains) or by webinar. The registration link is here.
