"The sacred traditions of Kuwai are vital to the cultures and spiritualities of northern Arawak-speaking peoples of the Northwest Amazon (NWA) region. I focus here on three key themes that seem to distinguish them from their parallel traditions among eastern Tukanoans: the ‘plants of power’ (medicinal and shamanic); spiritual cartographies of ancestral beings that ‘create the world’; and the frontier /’borderland’ of mixed ancestral traditions."

Please join us on Friday, April 29 at 3:00PM (Eastern US) for a presentation by Robin M. Wright, entitled "The 'Kuwai World': Plants of Power, Spiritual Cartographies, and Borderland Narratives in the Kuwai Traditions of the Northwest Amazon''. Please contact cracia [dot] info [at] gmail [dot] com to receive the Zoom link for the meeting.
