This month's Diversity Initiative Happy Hour Discussion will be on the Frederick Douglass and Wye House Archaeology and African American Culture In Maryland exhibit. Please meet in the Hornbake Library Gallery at 5 p.m. where we will tour the exhibit. Dr. Mark Leone will provide an introduction and be available to answer questions.

At 6 p.m. we will move downstairs to the Library Media Services Media Room 0302J where we will serve light refreshments and have an open forum to hear feedback and discuss themes from the exhibit. Some of these themes may include: spirituality and religion, symbolism, identity (community and individual, based on place, race, socio-economic stratification, and other factors), health and well-being (physical and mental), food and cooking, individual and group knowledge and the transmission of that knowledge, the role of archaeology and the community, and the connection between past and present. We invite all to participate and share your thoughts and experiences.
