About this event:
The COVID-19 pandemic has increased and exacerbated the risk women and girls face of experiencing different types of GBV, including intimate partner violence, conflict-related sexual violence, human trafficking, among others forms of violence. African America women as well as Latina and Afro-Latina Immigrant women have been disproportionally affected. Reproductive Justice becomes even more fragile with confinement, as well as with the added vulnerability for women as essential workers. In addition, COVID19 has aggravated the lack of safe housing particularly for marginalized Latina women that are survivors of violence. This round table addresses these intersections while underscoring the importance of community and collaborative approaches to address these challenges, together with the need to reframe immigration as a social issue.
