The Political Latinxs United for Movement and Action in Society (PLUMAS) student organization presents the third annual DREAM Gala on April 23, 2019, from 6:00 pm - 8:30 pm in the Grand Ballroom, Stamp.
In the words of Candela Cerpa, one of PLUMAS’s officers:
The event allows us to raise funds for our DREAM Fund, which provides financial assistance to undocumented and immigrant Terps for emergency legal aid and other issues related to their status. The DREAM Gala aims to continue our financial and emotional support for undocumented students. Over the past two years, we have supported over 11 students in renewing their DACA and provided two academic scholarships. We are proud of the work we have done, and would like you to join us again in supporting our fellow Terps.
This year, the University of Maryland is celebrating the Year of Immigration. In the spirit of our theme to celebrate immigrant resilience, we have made this year’s DREAM Gala a free event. We are relying more than ever on the campus community to donate and support our efforts to help reach our $3000 fundraising goal.
