Dr. Katherine Ford Russell is Associate Dean in the College of Behavioral and Social Sciences and Research Professor in the Department of Anthropology at University of Maryland. She is a graduate Harvard University where she studied biological anthropology and first participated in anthropology research and fieldwork. She earned a Master's degree in Anthropology from Northern Illinois University and a PhD in Biomedical Sciences from Kent State University. Her research focuses on age-related changes in human bones and teeth and their forensic and demographic applications.

Dr. Russell and her family support an endowed fund to help Maryland students from Prince George's County.
