2017 Praxis Award: Honorable Mentions from the Department of Anthropology

The Washington Association of Professional Anthropologists announced five recipients for the 2017 Praxis Award in early December at the National Association for the Practice of Anthropology meeting in Washington D.C. “The Praxis Award for Excellence recognizes the significant, often groundbreaking work performed in government and industry by the discipline’s practitioners in translating anthropological knowledge into action to address their clients’ problems.”

Honorable Mentions included Thurka Sangaramoorthy, Assistant Professor in the Department of Anthropology, for the project, “Marcellus Shale Public Health Study” and Cathleen Crain & Nathaniel Tashima, Adjunct Professors in the Department of Anthropology, for the project, “A Video Ethnographic Study: Raising Healthy Children in Poverty and Examples of Excellence in Addressing Childhood Wellness.”
