Marilyn London was selected to receive the Provost's Excellence Award for Professional Track Faculty. Marilyn was recognized at the Teaching & Learning Transformation Center’s annual Awarding Ceremony and Reception held on Friday, May11th. During the ceremony, Marilyn wasnoted for her 20+ years teaching at UMD, as well as her work developing a strategic partnership with the Department of Defense through the Defense POW/MIA, and the unique teaching and mentoring opportunities it provides for the department’s students.
In addition to her work here at UMD, Marilyn served on the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services D-MORT Team, and has responded to mass fatality incidents including the recovery and identification of remains after the crash of Flight 93 in the 9/11 terrorist attacks. She has also worked on the human skeletal collections of the Smithsonian’s National Museum of Natural History.
