PhD student Fiona Steiwer received the Erve Chambers Tourism and Heritage Student Paper Award for 2025 at the SfAA Annual Meeting in Portland

On Thursday, March 27, at the SfAA Annual Meeting in Portland, our PhD student Fiona Steiwer was awarded the 2025 Erve Chambers Tourism and Heritage Student Paper Award for 2025. Pictured are Fiona Steiwer with Dr. Erve Chambers and Dr. Melissa Stevens, along with the other awardees of the Erve Chambers Tourism and Heritage Student Paper Award.

The Erve Chambers Tourism and Heritage Student Paper Award was established to honor the legacy of Dr. Erve Chambers and encourage new and innovative avenues of inquiry within the anthropology of tourism and heritage. Dr. Chambers’ scholarly work and professional service have had an indelible impact on the anthropology of tourism and heritage as well as applied anthropology.
