Kayla Cochran is a master’s student at University of Maryland, pursuing a degree in Cultural and Heritage Resource Management, with an anticipated graduation of 2026. She graduated from Old Dominion University in 2023 with her BA in Art History and BFA in Painting and Drawing. Kayla has worked for several leading cultural institutions in the Hampton Roads region of Virginia, including the Chrysler Museum of Art and the Barry Art Museum. An awarded scholar, Ms. Cochran has been granted the opportunity to research ownership history and provenance of Cypriot vases at the Metropolitan Museum in New York summer 2021. In her current research Kayla is interested in ethical and moral acquisitions of antiquities and is interested in pursuing a PhD after her time at UMD.
