Tim is a master’s student at University of Maryland, pursuing a degree in Cultural and Heritage Resource Management. He earned his B.S. in Anthropology with a Focus in Archaeology from Oregon State University (OSU) in 2015. Since graduating from OSU, Tim has accumulated ten years of experience serving as a private-sector archaeologist in the Pacific Northwest of the USA and beyond.

Driven by curiosity, a commitment to personal growth and life-long learning, Tim has strived to gain a holistic understanding of Cultural Resources Management (CRM) practices by engaging in a diversity of roles ranging from field and lab technician to technical report writer and field director. He has participated in projects overseen by, and in collaboration with, Native American Tribes and various federal and state agencies in Oregon, Nevada, Idaho, and Washington including the Bureau of Land Management, Bureau of Reclamation, and U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, the Oregon Department of Transportation and with private interests on renewable energy related undertakings. He integrates his extensive field and writing experience with strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills in his current role as Field Director and Project Management intern at WestLand Engineering & Environmental Services.

Tim is interested in how CRM practitioners can meet resource management or compliance goals while also producing outcome that hold meaning for the communities that he works in. Tim is exploring ways to apply this approach through a pilot project in his roles at WestLand.
