Zachary Hannigan earned his B.A. in Anthropology from Mississippi State University in 2018. Since graduation, he has worked in cultural resource management (CRM). He is a field director for a CRM firm based in Huntsville, Alabama. During his time in the field, he has been involved in various Phase I, II, and III projects across the Southeast United States, primarily in Alabama, Mississippi, and Tennessee.
His academic interests include the study of transitional periods represented in the archaeological record in the Southeast. Some examples of periods of interest would be the changes seen in pre-contact societies during the initial colonial encroachments and the shifting socioeconomic relations seen in early 20th-century agricultural centers through archaeological evidence.
