Lori Hansen is a dedicated scholar who attended the University of Alaska-Southeast in Juneau, Alaska, earning an A.A., and attained her B.A. in anthropology with a focus on physical and forensic anthropology at the University of Montana. Her commitment to her field is evident in her diverse experience, including ten years working as an assistant curator at the University of Alaska Museum of the North (UAMN) in the archaeology laboratory, curating and processing archaeological museum collections, also gaining experience conducting NAGPRA inventories. She has also spent ten years at Northern Land Use Research Alaska, LLC as an archaeological field technician, where she worked her way up to the assistant crew lead position, gaining valuable experience in research, collection preparation and cataloging, support for documentation and report writing, QAQC data processing and management, and some lithic analysis. She has extensive experience conducting cultural resource surveys on large projects in remote settings throughout Alaska.
