As an archaeologist who has worked in cultural and heritage resource management since 2017, Bruce McRoberts is passionate about stewardship of our heritage and public lands. He has significant experience in military and public land management with Colorado State University's Center for Environmental Management of Military Lands and the National Park Service, as well as in public archaeology. He believes strongly in the importance of community engagement and the power of archaeology to inform how we construct our own histories and those of our communities. His archaeological fieldwork has included field surveys, site evaluations, condition assessments, and intensive data recovery excavations, along with data analysis, curation, and collections management. Although he finds it hard to narrow his research interests down to just a few, his primary expertise is in the archaeology and material culture of Eastern North America, particularly the Mid-Atlantic, from the Contact period to the present. He earned a B.A. in History from the University of Mary Washington in 2015 and a graduate certificate in Sustainable Military Lands Management from Colorado State University in 2023.
