UMD Department of Anthropology research was highlighted in an article on the impact of sea level rise on rural coastal communities, published by the Daily Press in Newport News. Department graduates and researchers Dr. Elizabeth van Dolah and Dr. Christy Miller Hesed discuss their work linking rural church communities with governments and non-governmental organizations to engage the problem of coastal resilience.
