Dr. Cheryl LaRoche's work was recently covered in an article titled "Tracing Lives From Slavery to Freedom" in Maryland Today. This article focuses on her project in partnership with the National Park Service at Hampton National Historic Site. This work brings together researchers from multiple universities and seeks to identify the hundreds of men, women and children who were enslaved at Hampton. The hope of this project is to discover what happened to these enslaved people and their descendants.
