Dr. Thurka Sangaramoorthy and Dr. Paul Shackel have both been awarded Independent Scholarship, Research, and Creativity Awards (ISRCA) from the Provost and Vice President for Research (VPR) for their respective research projects.

Dr. Sangaramoorthy's project is titled, "Afterlives of AIDS: Oral histories of Black women living and aging with HIV," and Dr. Shackel's project is titled, "Nativism and the New Immigrant in Coal Country, USA."
