This invited commentary addresses several challenges in bringing together intersectionality and syndemics. It argues that the stakes of intersectionality diverge radically from those of syndemics and how syndemics may undermine the importance of intersectionality in addressing health equity. Approximately 85% of the cited references are works by feminists of color.
