Emilia Guevara, PhD student in Anthropology, has been awarded a dissertation seed grant from UMD’s Qualitative Research Interest Group (QRIG) for her proposal titled, “Invisible Suffering: Mexican Migrant Women, Chronicity, and Health.”
QRIG is part of UMD’s Consortium on Race, Gender, and Ethnicity whose mission is to promote intersectional scholarship that examines dimensions of inequality through the lived experiences of historically underrepresented minorities. Emilia is currently in the field, but will be sharing her award-winning work with the UMD community during the 2019-2020 academic year.
Stay tuned for dates!
