Congratulations to the New Philadelphia Association for receiving the Illinois Archaeological Survey's 2016 Public Service Award! 

The IAS is Illinois’s professional society of archaeologists, and this award recognizes NPA's ‘outstanding commitment to preserve the New Philadelphia town site and to promote research and commemoration of that community’s history.'

Dr. Paul Shackel is part of the New Philadelphia Association and they are working with the National Park Service to develop a Special Resource Study to help determine the town site’s eligibility to be a national park.
