Rebecka Lundgren, a PhD graduate from the department, received the Marjorie C. Horn Operations Research Award in September from the Research, Technology and Utilization (RTU) Division of the Office of Population and Reproductive Health, Bureau for Global Health at the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). Over the summer USAID had awarded a $30 million grant to the Institute for Reproductive Health for the Passages Project, which aimed to improve family planning, and sexual and reproductive health among youth. Lundgren is the principal investigator and director of the Passages project. The award recognized Lundgren’s dedication and exemplary service in operations research, and in the scientific inquiry in the areas of fertility awareness and normative change in family planning populations. Currently, Rebecka Lundgren is the director of research at Georgetown University Medical Center’s Institute for Reproductive Health (IRH).
