Hi! I'm Amber, and I am coming to the department with a master's of science in anthrozoology. My main focus was human-animal conflict, especially in the realm of public policy on feral cat management and dangerous dog hearings. Here at UMD, my focus is on human-wildlife conflict in urban settings. I am specifically interested in the fluidity of wildlife belonging and exclusion. I have lived in Pasadena, Maryland, for the last seven years with my husband, Matthew, and our two kids, Scout and Hank. When I'm not working on schoolwork, which is almost never right now, I enjoy long-distance running—a hobby I am so excited to share with Matthew. My favorite food is Twizzlers, and my new favorite pastime is sleeping—only one of those has been a staple these last four weeks!
