Genesis Bonilla is a second year sociocultural anthropology undergraduate student at the University of Maryland. She discovered her passion for anthropology after taking two courses in cultural anthropology at another Maryland institution. Though Genesis is interested in sociocultural anthropology, she hopes to dive into archeology as well!

With an anthropology degree, Genesis hopes to understand why the world is the way it is. Specifically, she hopes to apply her understanding of the world to Latin America. In doing so, she believes it will help her during her time in law school after her undergraduate studies.

Currently, Genesis works for the Department of Anthropology as an Office Assistant. She enjoys working within the department, as it has helped her connect with others who are passionate about anthropology. She hopes to continue working for the department and inspire whoever walks through the front doors to seek a degree in anthropology!
