The Hill Community Project is an interdisciplinary effort to use heritage as a platform for community revitalization. The Hill is a neighborhood in Easton, Maryland, that has been home to a free African American community for over 200 years. Our project combines documentary, archaeological, genealogical, and oral history research with public education and preservation in order to illuminate The Hill Community's rich history and heritage. These efforts aim to assist community members in revitalizing their community.
