  • Dr. Christina Getrich Receives The 2018 Excellence In Mentorship Award
Dr. Getrich and Dean McIntosh

Dr. Getrich was selected as the recipient of the 2018 Excellence in Mentorship Award from the College of Behavioral and Social Sciences. The award was presented to her at the Faculty Staff Recognition Reception on Tuesday, April 10th, 2018.

Dr. Getrich’s research focuses on health disparities, health and immigration policies, and well-being of young adults in immigrant families. Dr. Getrich is an outstanding mentor of students at all levels, she is deeply committed to working closely with and mentoring graduate and undergraduate students—particularly students from underrepresented backgrounds. Dr. Getrich has dedicated a significant time mentoring a research team of students on her DACA Health and Well-Being Project, which provides students the opportunity to learn about doing local, community-based research.

We truly value her dedication and hard work. Congratulations, Dr. Getrich!
