  • Dr. Michael Paolisso Was Awarded The SfAA’s Sol Tax Award
Michael Paolisso

Dr. Michael Paolisso, Professor Emeritus in the Department of Anthropology at the University of Maryland, College Park, was awarded the Society for Applied Anthropology (SfAA)’s Sol Tax Award for 2025. Dr. Paolisso has served as Past President (2023),President(2021-2022), President-Elect (2020), Annual Meeting Program Chair(2019-Portland, OR), and Secretary twice (2014-2015 and 2005-2008). He also served on the Board of Directors(2014-2015) and has been a member of numerous program and award committees.

The Society for Applied Anthropology established a Distinguished Service Award in 2002. The Award was named in honor of a former leader of the Society and a world-renown action anthropologist, Prof. Sol Tax. The Award recognizes a member for distinguished service to the Society.
