Dr. Stephen A. Brighton is part of a documentary film "The Tunnel" about Irish immigration and the Blue Ridge railroad building in the mid-19th century. Dr. Stephen A. Brighton conducted a field school for two years, looking for the Irish shanty settlements (2012 and 2013) and the creation of a heritage trail through one of the tunnels constructed by the Irish - at the time one of the longest existing. The archaeology is featured in the documentary.

Here is the link to "The Tunnel" documentary trailer: https://vimeo.com/511713515.  The full-length documentary is scheduled to air on YouTube on March 17th.
