Summer Research Initiative to Increase Diversity

UMD BSOS Summer Research Initiative (SRI)

Our program provides rising juniors and seniors an opportunity to increase their interest in research
careers in the social and behavioral sciences, develop research skills, and learn about doctoral training
with the goal of encouraging students to pursue doctoral degrees in the social and behavioral sciences.
The program has a special emphasis on population groups underrepresented in these fields (i.e., African
Americans, Hispanics, American Indians, Alaska Natives, Native Hawaiians or other Pacific Islanders).
