Boyle, Katie
Bio
Katie is an historical archaeologist who completed the dual Master's in Applied Anthropology and Historic Preservation (AAHP) in December 2018 and the CHRM Graduate Certificate in 2023. She has worked as a field technician, lab technician, museum educator, and cultural resources intern for the National Park Service. Currently, she works for the National Park Service at the C&O Canal National Historical Park, serving as the Park Archeologist.
Her master's research focused on the historic landscape and built environment of Eckley Miners' Village, a coal company town in Northeastern Pennsylvania. She directed the 2017 Anthracite Heritage Program Field School's historic preservation component, instructing students in measuring outbuildings and collecting condition information. During both the 2017 and 2018 field seasons, she assisted in directing archaeological field investigations and acted as the Lab Manager. During the summer of 2019, she was a faculty assistant for the University of Maryland's collaborative field school in Forensic Aviation Archaeology in Oberpetersdorf, Austria.
