Bio
At my core is a passion for telling the stories of people long forgotten or misremembered. Working as an archaeologist since 2013, and wearing many hats, I have gained well-rounded experience in the practical aspects of field and lab research, the identification and management of impacts to cultural resources, and the day-to-day life of running a small CRM firm.
Since graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Anthropology from UC Santa Cruz, and meandering through several "shovelbum" roles in Central and Northern California, I have grown into my position as a key leader of a small team of archaeologists at Archeo-Tec, a consulting firm in California’s San Francisco Bay Area. Whether it's inspecting and analyzing soil column samples for paleosols or shell middens in the deeply buried sand dunes under San Francisco, or uncovering one of the nearly-forgotten farmsteads that once dominated the Silicon Valley, or performing archival research to understand the land-use changes of what is now a busy commercial block in the heart of Berkeley, all of these experiences have fed my curiosity and intent to explore the diverse corners of history, humanity, and culture.
