Winum, Adam
Bio
Adam Winum is a cultural resource management archaeologist located in Columbus, Ohio. He attended the State University of New York at Geneseo where he received his Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology minoring in art history and museum studies with a micro credential in archaeology in 2022. Adam is currently employed at Ohio Valley Archaeology, Inc. (OVAI) as an Archaeological Technician III. During his career, he has conducted Phase I-III archaeological investigations across the United States including Ohio, Indiana, Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Maine, North Dakota, Virginia, California, Kentucky, Michigan, South Carolina, Washington, and Tennessee, for federal, state and public entities. Outside of the United States, Adam has served as crew chief for numerous Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency recovery missions in rural Cambodia. Adam has authored and co-authored several technical CRM reports, created numerous maps, and assists in laboratory and archival research. His research interests include archaeological methodology, precontact archaeology of the Ohio Valley and Great Lakes, GIS/spatial analysis, and historical ecology.
