Flaig, Rhiannon
Bio
Rhiannon is an archaeologist based out of Eastern Pennsylvania. She received her bachelor's degree in Anthropology - Archaeology from Millersville University in 2023. During her time at MU she focused on 17th century maritime activity along the Delaware river. She conducted fieldwork at sites along the Delaware as well as researching material culture associated with trade goods between Colonial America and Bermuda. Following her undergraduate degree, she worked as a lab director and volunteer coordinator in Bermuda on the Smiths Island Archaeology Project, focusing on the artifacts recovered from military settlements ranging from the 17th to the 20th century. She has worked for the PASHPO as well as private sector archaeology firms. She is currently an Associate Archaeologist for Chronicle Heritage and fulfills the position of lab manager for three offices. Outside of her professional life, she is interested in the history and archaeology of historical amusement/theme parks from the late 19th and early 20th century, as well as the social and economic trends of themed entertainment today.
