Holbrook, Sheena

Bio

Sheena Holbrook (Lumbee; Saponi/Cheraw/PeeDee) is a 2025 graduate of UNC-Pembroke with a B.A. in Sociology and a minor in American Indian Studies; she is pursuing a Master of Professional Studies in Culture and Heritage Resource Management at the University of Maryland. She is currently the Project Manager of Indigenous Cultural History and Archives for the UNC-Pembroke R.E.A.C.H. (Research, Engagement, Action, Community, Humanities) research program. This position follows her two-year tenure as a researcher within the UNC-P R.E.A.C.H. cohort, where their research has gained international recognition through presentations across the United States and in Australia. With over three decades of community involvement, Sheena also focuses on mentoring and chaperoning youth through the Guilford County American Indian Education program (GCSAIE), the North Carolina Native American Youth Organization (NCNAYO), and the United National Indian Tribal Youth (UNITY) organization.
