Bio

I am an Alaskan archaeologist with 13 years of academic and field experience in my state. I work all across the state for a large Alaska Native regional corporation and absolutely love my job doing fieldwork, consultation and writing reports. I started my career in Colorado and the western states, so I have a lot of connection to that region as well. My main interest in archaeology is around prehistoric hunter-gatherer lifeways and past land use, with a strong and growing component of my focus being community and tribal engagement in the modern day. I also love geology, geography, geomorphology and glaciology (yes, you can see my rock collection). I am from Boston, MA originally but now reside in the woods about 25 miles outside of Fairbanks with my husband, my cats and their guard dogs, and feel very lucky to join the department from afar and share our Alaskan perspective.
