Amanda Stapleton, M.A.A student
Amanda Stapleton is a first-year graduate student pursuing a master's degree in medical and environmental anthropology. Dr. Christina Getrich and Dr. L. Jen Shaffer jointly advise her.
Amanda's research interests include disease interactions that result from anthropogenic environmental changes. Her research seeks to take an intersectional approach to climate change, infectious diseases, and disasters to inform community-driven health strategies and environmental policies.
Amanda completed her bachelor's degree in Anthropology at the University of Central Florida virtually after moving to Maryland with her husband and children. In addition to her academic pursuits, Amanda supports the Graduate Office within the Department of Psychology and enjoys gardening in her spare time.
